Jennifer Bennett is a lifelong crafter and fan of sustainable design. She has combined her skills in carpentry, design and painting to create play stations for children. She specializes in creating kitchens that are modern, to match the decor of modern homes. She uses recycled or repurposed materials when possible, including old entertainment centers and book cases.
Beside her concern for the environment is a fundamental belief that we can all give back to society in some way. She has made a commitment to donate at least two kitchens each year to a charitable organization. One kitchen was donated in October 2009 to a silent auction to benefit Cystic Fibrosis, and another is being donated in January to the Jewish Community Center of Charlotte's Preschool Program. If you know of an organization that would like a kitchen, please submit your contact information.
At this time, kitchens are only available for purchase in the Charlotte area. However, an e-book with construction plans will be available in the coming months.
